Math
The intermediate school math program fosters personal integrity, social responsibility and self-discipline. The curriculum integrates higher order skills of critical thinking, collaboration, and problem solving. Students are provided with opportunities to reason mathematically, problem solve across the curriculum, and apply math using real life situations. Students:
- Perfect their basic computational skills and expand their knowledge of fractions and decimals
- Utilize skills in practical applications as they solve everyday problems and analyze their results
- Process new information and topics using math journals, hands-on activities, and collaboration
- Students are placed according to ability level with opportunities for advancement through our Step-Up Math Program
