FRA's 13th Annual Project Day

Sweets and Treats Station - Snack mixes will be prepared and donated to the homeless in our area. Westminster Presbyterian Church will accept these donations and distribute them to the homeless.
Items needed: quart size ziploc bags, cheerios, pretzels, raisins, craisins, m&ms, chocolate chips, rice chex, corn chex, small marshmallows
Spread the Warmth Station - Our students will go through the donated coats, fold and prepare them as a gift for St. Joseph's Carmelite Home for Boys and Girls in East Chicage and We Care from the Heart Social Services in Hammond.
Items needed: gently used or new coats, holiday gift wrapping ribbons
Sojourner Truth Station - This is our continued toiletries collection for the Sojourner Truth House which then get passed out to the women and their children that are homeless and/or attending classes in their facility.
Items needed: travel or full size shampoo, conditioner, soap and lotion
Holiday Homeless Care Kits Station - Please mark all donations HOMELESS so we know that they can be used for the care kits.
Items needed: socks, t-shirts, water bottles, crackers (plain or with peanut butter or cheese), easy to open packets of tuna, granola bars, fruit snacks, kleenex, maxi pads, toothbrushes, toothpaste, nail clippers, nail files, band aids, hand sanitizer, chapstick, comb or small brush, mints, gum, cough drops
Warm and Cozy Station - Fleece Blankets will be made and donated to add a warm touch to children who have experienced traumatic events. Blankets this year will be donated to the St. Joseph's Carmelite Home for Girls and Boys and We Care from the Heart Social Services.
Items needed: 2 yards of fleece material
For the Four-Legged Friends Station - Junior Kindergarten students are collecting items to donate to local animal rescue centers such as the Humane Society.
Items needed: dog beds, dog blankets, toys, food bowls, food, treats, collars, leashes, etc.
Toys for Kids Station 1 - Toys will be sanitized for children at St. Joseph's Carmelite Home for Boys & Girls in East Chicago and We Care from the Heart Social Services in Hammond.
Items needed: gently used or new toys, Clorox wipes
Toys for Kids Station 2 - Students will be making wooden toys in FRA's very own woodshop for children at St. Joseph's Carmelite Home in East Chicago.
Hospice Helpers Station - Angel door hangers to brighten the rooms of those under hospice care at Hartsfield Village will be created by students.
Meals on Wheels Station - Students will decorate bags for meals that will be delivered to those who are homebound.
Greeting Card Station - Students will make cards to send to our veterans.
Community Outreach - A selection of FRA students will spend the day with residents at various nursing homes in the area.
