Forest Ridge Academy
Extended Care Services
The extended care program begins at 7:00 a.m. until dismissal to classrooms at 8:15 each school morning. This is a time for socializing, finishing homework, drawing, and playing board games or cards games, such as Uno.
After school, junior kindergarten, kindergarten and first graders move to the gymnasium, while students in grades two through five move to the library for their study hall time. Middle school students remain in their classroom for a mandatory study hall time until 4:00. At 4:00 all children proceed to the gymnasium area.
All students signed in to study hall/extended care are served a healthy snack and water. The extended care personnel provide activities such as jump roping, outside play, various games and activities at the tables and occasional videos. Students are not allowed to visit other parts of the building before or after school hours. Parents are charged for before and after school care unless a parent is in the building for a meeting or conference.
